I remember using glace (or chrystalised) angelica in Christmas cakes in the early 1980’s. Then it vanished from the supermarket shelves. According to internet research, making your own can be a bit hit and miss. However, that hasn’t stopped me getting an Angelica plant. Even if I don’t successfully make glace angelica, it is a reminder of a happy memory. I’ve potted on into a larger pot using organic compost with sharp sand mixed in and it’s now sitting in the back garden on the patio.
